From my blog, "Remebering Miss Lilian" -Kelly Via, North Carolina, USA
I have only been to Uganda 3 times, but each time I was always greeted by Miss Lilian with a joyful hug and a beautiful smile. After being around her only a short time, I knew that her love for Jesus was true, strong and genuine. She radiated joy, and she quickly became one of my favorite ladies at Arise Africa. She always cared for our teams as a mother and always made us feel so welcome. Miss Lilian even had a sense of humor...telling Jonathan "A queen never carries her own bags..." when she saw that I was carrying my luggage. During this past trip to Uganda, Lilian spent a majority of her time working at Bukeleba (see previous blog). She had everything looking so nice; flower gardens, VIP toilets, nice guest quarters...and of course she went above and beyond, preparing our team a Ugandan lunch on the day we were there. She spent her days working to further God's Kingdom and she was passionate about seeing people saved by Jesus and seeing their needs cared for. She was definitely one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever met, and I looked forward to being at the Guest House with her on each mission trip to Uganda. She will surely be missed my many, including myself and my husband.

Lillian was the strongest woman I have ever met. Physically, mentally and spiritually. She had a heart for God like I have never seen before!
I love her like she is my own family. I miss her deeply but I know that she is exactly where she wants to be, in the presence of the love of her Life.

Sorrow is not forever - love is. The sadness and loss that I feel at this time will, I know, be replaced by the abiding memory of a lovely, warm, compassionate lady. The joy of returning to Uganda will, inevitably, in future be tempered by the knowledge that the country is the poorer for the loss of Lilian's love for all around her. Heaven is the richer. May God bless you Lilian.

I've only known Lillian a short while, with short visits to Uganda, from Trafford over the last few years. However, it only took a brief moment to know her a beautiful daughter of Christ. She will be missed by many, but our loss is heavens gain. Goodbye my darling, see you again in a short while. Steve
